Recent developments in pensions

26 November 2014

We are delighted to invite you to our next regular morning legal update seminar, taking place on 26 November 2014.

With two Pension Bills currently progressing through Parliament, as well as developments from Europe, UK pension bodies and the courts, there is much for pension practitioners to keep on top of.   At the seminar, speakers from the Hogan Lovells pension group and a guest speaker from our intellectual property practice will review recent legal developments, emphasising the practical implications for trustees and sponsors of occupational pension schemes.

Topics covered will include:

  • The latest on the pension tax changes in force in April 2015, including changes to tax on death benefit lump sums
  • What's new from the Pension Protection Fund?
  • Update on the Pension Schemes Bill
  • What should trustees be doing to comply with data protection requirements?
  • Recent cases and Pensions Ombudsman determinations
  • European reform - the revised IORP directive issued in September
  • Other recent legal developments

The seminar will be informal, with breakfast and refreshments available throughout.
Target audience:
Trustees and sponsors of occupational pension schemes and their advisers.
